There was a nice article last month in an Ottawa publication about Alice Wilson and Elsa Lassard, two ladies who are members of the Women's Canadian Royal Service.
They were presented with a certificate and a medal commemorating their service in the Second World War. They both served for three years as wireless telegraphers. They were known as The Listeners, waiting for messages and transmissions among the enemy. The information was then sent out via Teletype and would eventually end up at Bletchley Park.
Thanks to Iris Winston for writing their story.
